Random...

I found the words to the song I was talking about the other day....

My Best Friend - Tim McGraw

I never had no one that I could count on
I've been let down so many times
I was tired of hurtin'
So tired of searchin'
Til you walked into my life

It was a feelin' I'd never known
And for the first time,
I didn't feel alone

You're more than a lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh, we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Every time I look at you

I don't know where I'd be
Without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You're my best friend
You're my best friend, oh yeah

You stand by me
And you believe in me
Like nobody ever has
When my world goes crazy
You're right there to save me
You make me see how much I have
And I still tremble when we touch
And oh the look in your eyes
When we make love

You're more than a lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh, we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Every time I look at you

I don't know where I'd be
Without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You're my best friend

You're my best friend

You're more than a lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh, we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Every time I look at you

I don't know where I'd be
Without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You're my best friend

You're my best friend
You're my best friend

Kinda says it all, huh?

Honey, you make me wanna cry. It is the hardest thing in the world to lose your best friend and lover. You wonder why God would allow this. Why would God let this happen to you -- it is beyond all comprehension.

I’m not going to tell you that God never gives you more than you can bear. I’m not going to say that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Crap. Baloney. blah blah blah. Who cares.

But Lesa, I read this once about God and his “sheep” . . . God is like the shepherd of a large flock of sheep. God sits up and watches at night. He tends the flock during the day. He scares off predators when he sees them, and when he can. But sometimes, just like a shepherd cannot protect each and every one of his lambs, God cannot protect each and every one of his children.

When my dear, 38 year old, fun-loving brother-in-law died in a car accident way back then, all I could hear in my head for days and weeks at a time was that old song "only the good die young".

JY died young. Only the good die young . . .

Bear down. Hold up. One day, one breath, at a time.
