Twenty-five days...part five

The memories just keep on a commin' :)

September 5, 2010 - memory 5

L - Puerto Vallarta, MX. J and I went 3 times. Once with mom, dad and JE. Once with JE and TE on their honeymoon and once by ourselves. The first trip was J's first ever out of the country and I believe his first time to ever see the ocean and lemme tell you, he made the most of it. If memory serves, I might have locked him out of our hotel room one of the nights we were there for being, well, JY. J and dad made friends at several of the drinking establishments and had HUGE fun together. We walked on the beach and he indulged my coffee habit by getting me a coffee every morning...true love ;) On our SECOND trip to PV, we enjoyed the sights with my sister and newly appointed brother in law. We hit every veggie stand to get fresh cucumbers EVERY day and the BIL and J hit the frog races a couple nights resulting in J getting locked out of our hotel room again :) The boy never learned that he should probably take a key with him just in case. I'm pretty sure that E was conceived 'over the border' because nine months later she arrived :) Our third trip to PV was just the two of us. I'm not sure what possessed us into thinking that we could vacation, by ourselves and NOT want to kill each other by the end of the 7 day trip is beyond my thought process. But we survived, the maids made good money off of us, and we made REALLY good friends with the head bartender at the hotel bar and the head of security when they had to escort us to our room....they were very forgiving :) We really did have a good time together, even if sometimes we wanted to strangle the other :)

E - Dad used to cook with me, just him and I would go shopping together after looking up the recipes online. (m) So, your part of the reason why I got fatter than I was? (e) I don't know, maybe ;) (m) What sort of meals did you cook together? (e) We made Cheesy Potato Soup, MY famous meatballs and one other thing I can't remember the name of. (m) So, really he was teaching you to cook so you would be ready for taking care of us in our old age? (e) haha, yes.

A - Dad used to have bottle rocket wars at 4th of July and E and I used to catch the the blown off sticks. (m) You used to CATCH them? Like you were in the middle of it? (a) Yea. (m) Oh dear lord.

Thanks for checking in...

L
