On the way home from the gymnastics meet, JY's mom called to let us know that JY's grandparent's had been in a car accident and transported to Mary Greeley in Ames via ambulance. She had no other information at the time.
We found out later that it was a one car accident, just the grandparent's, and happened when they were on the road, hit some slush, went in the ditch and rolled their car. JY's grandparent's are home now and sore but ok, but the car is totaled (the jaws of life were used to remove them from the car). Their guardian angel must have been riding in the car with them as we can replace a car, but not them. I, for one, don't think I could have handled losing one more family member and thank whoever was watching over them that they are still with us.
