We (the girls and I) started last weekend taking in a little show, you may have heard mention of it, maybe?? Yep, we got to go see The 2008 Tour of Gymnastic Superstars!! Wahoo!! Mom (Granny) bought Emily, Allyson, Sophia and Sabryn tickets as part of their Christmas presents (I hope they remember that come Christmas day), and gee, someone had to drive them to the show, right?? So, I went along...well Mom and I went along oh and BFF and Slye rode up with us. I mean, think green right?? Carpool it is! So, as a bonus, 13 gymnastic teams from the state of Iowa got invited to a meet and greet BEFORE the show with some of the gymnasts performing - oh and the others may have been nearby so we could see them up close and personal. And did I mention, Shannon Miller was there too?? Holy sh*t, really?? E and A are all, who the heck is that?? BFF and I were all, are you kidding me?? She's our era, dude!! What an awesome experience!! Our club was the 4th biggest purchaser of tickets to the event, which out of 13, that's not too shabby!! I didn't waste any time snapping pictures of Shannon Miller, because DUDE she's just awesome and she's freaking sitting right in front of us!! But, I had the tiny purse camera and it takes nasty long distance pictures so most of the pictures I took suck butt...JY told me I'd regret not taking the gigantic camera with the 12x zoom and he was right...I hate it when that happens :)
So the show was just amazing, busy, loud, bright and by the time 8p rolled around I was on stimulation overload to the max (am I getting old??)!! About that time they announced a 20 minute intermission, WHAT?? Are you kidding me?? No, no they weren't. I'm hot, I've been here since 5p, I'm hungry, I need a cig and now we have a 20 minute break?? Give me a BREAK!! We finally get out of there at 920p, hike to the car, wait for a bunch of stupid b's who won't let us out of the parking spot (and I could just hear JY like he was in the car with us saying, well screaming - it would go a lot faster if you just let one out and then behind you someone else let one out and so on) drive to McDonald's (good mom), Starbucks and then home!! BFF and I came home to a poker game going on in her house, so we hooked up the SingStar and sang until 4am. It really happens, you lose track of time singing like a bunch of crazy asses!! So, I'm finally in bed at 430a...I might be the coolest person around :)
Saturday morning, I slept in, didn't do anything until we had to leave for Ames for our niece's birthday party. Finally back home at 845p and I'm falling asleep in my computer chair (don't know why) and hit the sack at 12a.
Sunday, we went for some lunch in Prole - GREAT place and a must go for lunch or breakfast. Came home, laid around for a little bit, went and watched Slye at her Rec meet at Chow's (awesome job Slye!!), went out for dinner and came home to laundry, laundry and more laundry that kept me up until 1230a. Yep, we did all that in one weekend :)
Monday night was the 1st basketball practice and I'm thinking....3 1/2 more months of this with a couple of gymnastics meets thrown in and I'm sleepy just thinking about it all!!
I hope you had as relaxing a weekend as I did (if not, I don't like you much right now)!!
