Concern all around :)

So, the whole Christmas thing and the room thing and me trying to motivate the girls into cleaning their room so Santa can visit, it made them mad, but not mad enough. And when I say mad, not mad at me or anyone else, just mad at themselves for letting their room turn into a junk hole where everything goes to die a slow death. Have you ever just looked a large project straight in the face and not known where to start? I think this is how Emily and Allyson felt when I put pressure on them to clean it up or I'm cancelling Christmas. I'm sure I just compounded the problem. I'm still learning this parent thing, really. Like mom always used to say to me when I was growing up 'you know, you didn't come with an instruction manual, you learn by doing and sometimes doing isn't enough'. I threw my hands up and everyone came running. I love that. I love that my family, this includes you BFF, stepped in where I didn't feel like I could...and I love everyone of you for it.

Below is the email that Judy (JY's step-mom) sent the girls on Friday. This got Emily REALLY mad. Not at Judy, at herself because she knew I wasn't messing around, that it wasn't just me that had the final say - Santa had a lot of say in it too. Raising kids is the best, isn't it??

I read the blog this morning and saw your room pictures and that you guys might not have Christmas. I was really worried when I saw that. So, after work I stopped and saw Santa's helpers. I told them that you guys might not get to have Christmas and told them I really need to talk to Santa. They told me Santa is really busy this time of year. I said to them, you really don't understand. Lesa is not going to the let kids have Christmas from Santa because they aren't cleaning their rooms. We talked about you and the rooms and finally, they said ok, They called Santa on the phone and let me talk directly to him. He said, yes, I did get their Moms message, but I just have not had time to get back to her.

Then, here is the good part girls. He let me in on a Secret. He said starting tonight, he is going to have his helpers start checking up on the kids that the parents have contacted him. He told me if you guys would get your rooms picked up and if it is done when they check, then he would still be able to get to your house. I think he is going to get back to your Mom after they make the rounds to check it out. But he did say, he does not have the final say, your mom is the one who gets to tell him if he can stop at your house on Christmas Eve.

So, you might be in luck if you can get them cleaned up tonight. Happy cleaning, but it will all be worth it so Santa gets to come this year.

Talk to you later and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS

Judy

P.S Santa did give me a number that he can be reached on if you ever want
to talk to him, let me know and I will give it to your Mom. I think it is a different number that what Lesa might have because this one he gave me he said if he is busy Mrs Clause could talk to you.

Luv,
L
